SASSA Care Dependency Grant 2025 : The Care Dependency Grant is one among the critical social assistance schemes in South Africa, intended to support parents and caregivers of children with a permanent or severe disability by way of care dependency.
R1910 will be maintained as the monthly grant payment in 2025, SASSA declared, but with rather complicated new rules-and-documentation combinations designed to make things more transparent to the public.
What the R1910 Care Dependency Grant Covers
This grant is provided to provide financial assistance to carers of children with a disability requiring a full-time caregiver. This assistance includes the cost of such regular care, any mobility expenses, transport fees, and medical check-ups.
Then come equipment and other costs associated with household caring responsibilities connected to a disabled child. Parents, foster parents, or legal guardians will be assessed, depending on the needs of the child and the household’s income limit determined by SASSA.
Updated Eligibility Requirements by 2025
In 2025, the child must be below 18 years old with a severe or permanent disability that renders the child to be continuously cared for. Importantly, the consent of an authorized medical practitioner must be attached, affirming that clinical validity is under their responsibility.
This grant is available to any person who will raise a child or who is already raising a child with disabilities, and who can prove the fact in a number of ways. All the persons holding the heraldic cards of the country are welcome to claim this grant program. The application requires some documents to be attached therewith.

The applicant’s parents are also required to provide proof of income and marital status, as well as proof of means testing that the foster parents may submit as an order of foster care.
Monthly Grant Payment Dates and Schedule
The grant is usually paid off from the 1st to the 3rd workday from the beginning of the SASSA payment cycle according to the beneficiary’s bank flow. Payment shall be processed and forwarded directly into their bank accounts and be visited to be collected at any of the official SASSA payout points.
SASSA, in anticipation of issues that could come up along the way, has said that the prepaid allowance program is set for no payment delays for purposes of ensuring payment before festive season commences.
