What Happens Next?

Since the government moved from and lifted the Disaster Management Act, would you still be receiving the SRD R350 grant?

The answer is YES.

SASSA announced beneficiaries must re-apply for the SRD R350 grant under the Social Assistance legislation.

"Given that the national state of disaster was lifted in April, the Department of Social Development has endeavored to develop the regulatory framework for the payment of the Covid-19 SRD grant within the Social Assistance legislation".

Not everyone will qualify for the new R350 grant and applications must be considered every month.

For now, beneficiaries can only apply for the grant using the SASSA WhatsApp platform.
