Social Grant Amounts For 2025
The revised monthly payments that will be effective from January 2025 are:
- Old Age Pension: R2,315
- Disability Grant: R2,315
- Child Support Grant: R530 per child
- Foster Child Grant: R1,140
- Care Dependency Grant: R2,310
- R350 Special Relief of Distress Grant: R350

Who Qualifies For The Grants?
The criteria for eligibility still stay more or less the same, yet SASSA still advises every beneficiary to confirm their status to prevent delays in payments.
- Applicants have to be South African citizens, permanent residents, or refugees.
- Both the receiver and the dependents have to reside in South Africa.
- Old Age & Disability Grants: Requirements of age or disability plus means test.
- Child Support Grant: Children below 18, with the caregiver’s income below the threshold.
- Foster & Care Dependency Grants: Court or medical documentation must be valid.
